My name is Jane Wescott, and I am both excited and privileged to be the Foundation Principal of our new school in Treeby.I truly believe that every child will learn and reach their full potential, when they are supported by adults who care for them, when they are connected to each other; and when there is a deep sense of belonging to our school and community.My vision for our school, is of a community proudly united in the belief that we are better when we are together; and when our decision-making has students at its centre. I have a deep commitment to learning for all; children, teachers and the wider community and believe that by holding learners accountable to the highest standards and providing them with academic and social support they will rise to the challenge. At our new school, all children will dream positively about their futures, connect their passions to their learning and be provided with the opportunities and resources they need to reflect on and reach their goals.As a leader, I am passionate about ensuring that research-proven strategies are embedded in our school and I continue to enjoy learning through post-graduate studies. During my teaching career I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching in both country and metropolitan schools, including as a Level 3 Classroom Teacher. Having then worked as a Deputy Principal in two schools, I have relished the opportunity to have been a Principal of three schools. Most recently, this has been at Charthouse PS.In 2021, I will be seeking volunteers within our school community to be part of the consultative Steering Committee to help choose our school’s name, logo and uniform. Until our name is finalised, and our website has been developed, I’ll be regularly posting updates on the Facebook page, using our planning name.Whilst our school is being built, I will be based at Atwell PS and I would like to thank them all for welcoming me to their school.
