I know many of us are waiting for an update on the Treeby Primary School as well as our Community Centre. Many of us built our home in this estate because of these facilities. We, the TCA, compiled the latest update for your convinience.

Treeby Community Centre ๐Ÿ‰

Back in March 2019, Cockburn Council conducted a preliminary survey to the Calleya community on the utilisation and visions for our community centre. All the results are compiled, taken into consideration, and it is currently in the floorplan design stage with an estimated date of completion around March 2022* (subject to change).

The oval will be shared with Fremantle Roosters Rugby League Club, they were awarded winter tenancy last June, which they have many junior players around and in Treeby surroundings. Hopefully, this will encourage more children and teenagers to get out of the house and away from screens ๐Ÿ˜Š.

There will be an official announcement on Treeby Community Centre around March 2020 where they will officially publish the draft-designs as well as a Q&A session for all the Calleya residents.

For more information about the community centre development, you can check out Cockburn Council's website >> Major Projects >> Calleya Estate Treeby Community Centre

Treeby Primary School ๐ŸŽ’

It was announced in December 2019 that there will be 5 new primary schools for 2022 school year and Treeby is on that list ๐Ÿ‘. Treeby will see the construction of the new $20.3 million Treeby (Banjup West) Primary School (planning name) which will be built with permanent capacity for 540 students. Aim to finish before the start of 2022 school year. (yes, that means both Treeby Community Centre and Treeby Primary School will finish roughly around the same period , 2022 ๐ŸŽ‰)

Treeby Primary School (planning name):

  • Located on Sapphire Drive, Treeby,
  • Construction begins in late 2020,
  • Opening in 2022,
  • Accommodating 540 students in permanent classrooms from kindergarten to Year 6, and
  • The new school will alleviate enrolment pressure at the nearby Atwell Primary School.

Our garden bed and brand new notice board!

Have you checked out our Calleya Community Garden ๐ŸŒพ?

For the past 2 months, our Garden team has been working day and night on the garden beds ๐ŸŒฑ. As you can see, now they are full of greens. Some of them are already fruiting ๐Ÿฅ•๐Ÿ… while others are on their way ๐ŸŒฟ.

Also, we have three compost bins. So if you have any veggie and fruit scraps from your daily cooking we would love to have them. If you can donate, please place them in the bin next to the bulletin board ๐Ÿšฎ.

Please drop and say hi whenever you can.

If you are interested to join our community garden ๐Ÿค”, there is just 2 simple steps ๐Ÿ˜Š.

  1. Become a member of Treeby Community Association (TCA) via the members page, and
  2. Email our community garden rep Flo at garden@treebyca.com.au.

Huge thanks to all the garden volunteers, Stocklands and City of Cockburn for making this Community Garden possible! Hope to see you there.

Love chilli? We have two pot of them!
Assorted veggies are growing in our garden!

We, Treeby Community Association, are always looking for passionate members to join our team. Currently, we have 2 positions that are vacant and would love to have someone in the community to fill them.

First one is our Grants Officer. The grants officer's role is to seek out potential grants that we can apply and working with TCA team to make it happen. We have had grants from the City of Cockburn, local businesses, donations and much more. They all contributed to many of our fun programs such as monthly BBQs, Treeby Olympics, Halloween competitions, etc. The Grants Officer is important for the growth and the potential of TCA. With additional grants, we can run more community programs, improve amenities, support the members and better competition prizes.

The second one is our Neighbourhood Watch Officer. As a Treeby Neighbourhood Watch rep, you will be attending a monthly meeting at the City of Cockburn town hall to provide and receive updates on the crime reports and community awareness campaigns. This is the place to network with other communities representatives, WA Police, Crime Stoppers, and as well as learning many ways to keep you and your family safe. The role will involve attending the monthly meetings, occasionally provide Treeby community's concerns and reporting back any upcoming programs and initiatives by the Neighbourhood Watch Board. This role is important as it is our gateway to learn more about what is happening around us.

If any of these two position resonant with your desire to volunteer, please don't hesitate to contact us. Of course, all the TCA exec team are here to help so you don't need prior experience. Just your passion and your desire to build a strong community!

Want to learn more about the role? Please contact us via info@treebyca.com.au or Facebook messenger. Thank you for reading~

Just a friendly reminder that Solomon Road will be temporarily closed from late November 2019 to March 2020. The section of the Solomon Road stretches from Jandakot Road and Peppworth Place. Diversions and signage will be in place during the closure.

The upgrade project is to transform 800m of Solomon Road into a safer 70kph zone with street lighting and a central median, replacing the rural-standard two-lane section between Dollier and Jandakot Roads.

As for Calleyans, we will be able to access to the Jandakot Road via the new construction at the new Clementine Boulevard and Jandakot Road intersection. This access point will be completed before the closure on Solomon Road.

To get to Kwinana Freeway, we can use Cutler Road and Prinsep Road or the good ol' Armadale Road entry.

For more information, please visit City of Cockburn website on Solomon Rd Upgrade Page.
