Construction is underway and scheduled to be completed by Feb 2022

Our local Primary School is coming along nicely. Many mainframes are already erected with insulation and roofs to be installed next! 🏫

But first, a most important line of business. πŸ‘©β€πŸ«

We have an incredibly important decision to make as a school community, as the time has come to name our school.

Please vote for your preferred choice here βœ”οΈ

The three approved names on the list meet the rigorous and detailed requirements for naming new schools. Our choices are:
  • Treeby Primary School (named after the suburb)
  • Treeby Gardens Primary School (named after the suburb and the link to its market garden history)
  • Torwood Primary School (named after the street address)
The poll will stay open until Tuesday 20 April 2021. After review by the Steering Committee, the most preferred name will be submitted to the Minister for Education and Training for approval.

Thanks
Jane Wescott
Principal

🚸 For any further information please follow this Facebook Group or send an email to Principal Jane Wescott.

We have from, left to right, Shaun (NHW Rep), Lani (TCA President) and Helen (TCA Treasurer).

WHAT A TURNOUT!! πŸ‘

Thank you all for attending our Aussie Day breakfast and connecting with your fellow neighbours. We have a large group of seniors from Aspire coming here early to join us, and we even enticed in a few joggers with free bacon and egg breakfasts (vegetarian options were available too!) πŸ˜‚

Great to see families bring out their children and participate in many lawn games and mingling with other members. This is what a community event is about!

In total, we cooked 115 eggs, 100 sausages, 6kgs of bacon, 14 loaves of bread, 2 huge watermelons! A shoutout to our community garden crew for donating many fresh produces from the garden for our vegetarian friends and more.

Approximately 120-130 people turned up for the event πŸ₯³  Well done!

A big thanks to all the TCA volunteers to make this happen and see you on the next one! 😊

Good morning fellow Calleyans!
I bring exciting news 🀩

For those who are looking forward to the news for our Treeby Primary School (name tentative), here is an introduction from our new principal Jane Wescott πŸ‘

Please check out their new Facebook page too for more information and updates!

If you don't have Facebook, don't worry, here is the full intro.

My name is Jane Wescott, and I am both excited and privileged to be the Foundation Principal of our new school in Treeby.

I truly believe that every child will learn and reach their full potential, when they are supported by adults who care for them, when they are connected to each other; and when there is a deep sense of belonging to our school and community.

My vision for our school, is of a community proudly united in the belief that we are better when we are together; and when our decision-making has students at its centre. I have a deep commitment to learning for all; children, teachers and the wider community and believe that by holding learners accountable to the highest standards and providing them with academic and social support they will rise to the challenge. At our new school, all children will dream positively about their futures, connect their passions to their learning and be provided with the opportunities and resources they need to reflect on and reach their goals.

As a leader, I am passionate about ensuring that research-proven strategies are embedded in our school and I continue to enjoy learning through post-graduate studies. During my teaching career I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching in both country and metropolitan schools, including as a Level 3 Classroom Teacher. Having then worked as a Deputy Principal in two schools, I have relished the opportunity to have been a Principal of three schools. Most recently, this has been at Charthouse PS.

In 2021, I will be seeking volunteers within our school community to be part of the consultative Steering Committee to help choose our school’s name, logo and uniform. Please follow our new Facebook page to see how you can be involved. Until our name is finalised, and our website has been developed, I’ll be regularly posting updates on the Facebook page, using our planning name.

Whilst our school is being built, I will be based at Atwell PS and I would like to thank them all for welcoming me to their school. Please feel free to contact me via email at Treeby.PS.BanjupW@education.wa.edu.au to say hello or ask any questions you may have.

I am looking forward to our adventure, as we ready our school to welcome students in 2022.

Thanks

Jane

Many of you may have read or heard about the proposed Bus Route 523 in Calleya 🚏.

A huge thanks to Yaz Mubarakai MLA for actively pushing for a bus route service in Calleya Estate. A total of 214 signatures and working with the Minister for Transport, the Hon Rita Saffioti, they are happy to announce on Nov 9th 2020 that a bus Route 523 will start its community consultation on 16th November. This is one step closer to getting the service πŸ™ŒπŸŽ‰

Below is the proposed route or for a better look you can download the PDF here.

Route 523 🚌 is proposed to operate seven days a week at the following times:

  • Every 15 minutes during weekday peak periods
  • Every 60 minutes during off-peak weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Services would be timed to formally connect with trains at Cockburn Central Station.

The Proposed Route 523 in Consultation stage

WE WANT YOUR FEEDBACK!

This is where we can make some changes. Transperth is seeking public opinions on Route 523!

If you have any comments or suggestions, please let them know before 4th December 2020

The survey will only take 10 minutes max. So let them know what you think! 😊

The proposed Ghostgum Ave and Armadale Rd intersection

As many of you have already received information in your letterbox regarding the next major phase to the Armadale Road to North Lake Road Bridge Project. Check the Mainroad website for more project details.

This post will highlight the construction that will impact residents in Calleya Estate and surrounding Treeby. Mainly the Ghostgum Ave entrance to Armadale Road.

This 3-staged construction will commence in early September 2020 and aims to mid-2021. A major diversion is required to assist the widening of Armadale Road. As a result, the intersection will be converted to left-turn access only during the construction phase.

Ghostgum Avenue traffic intending to travel westbound on Armadale Road will be required to turn left at Armadale Road and follow the detour to the Liddelow Road roundabout then turn back onto Armadale Road, adding an extra 2 km, or approximately four minutes to travel times.

Armadale Road westbound traffic intending to travel northbound on Ghostgum Avenue will be required to continue travelling west on Armadale Road to the temporary roundabout at Tapper Road and Verde Drive (in operation from mid-August), then turn back onto Armadale Road. This will add an extra 1.5 km, or approximately three minutes to travel times.

Right turning movements between Armadale Road and Ghostgum Avenue will be prohibited, as they would require road users to cross an active construction site and oncoming traffic, without protection from traffic signals. This would create a potentially hazardous situation for road users and construction workers in the area. This duration of the right turn closure is necessary for the significant works to be safely undertaken in a heavily constrained area with live power, gas and water services.

Signed detours will be in place throughout each stage of the works. A detour map can be found below. To minimise disturbance to residents, we aim to keep construction-related noise to a minimum and will actively monitor these impacts throughout.

Upon completion, an additional lane will be added to the Armadale Road and Ghostgum Avenue intersection in each direction to improve capacity and support ongoing residential development in Treeby.

If you have any questions about these works or wish to find out more about the Armadale Road to North Lake Road Bridge Project, please phone 138 138, email enquiries@mainroads.wa.gov.au or visit https://project.mainroads.wa.gov.au/home/armadaleroadbridge/Pages/default.aspx

Let's talk about a popular issue here in Calleya estate and that is the mobile coverage πŸ“Ά from all the telecom providers.

You may have come across many Facebook posts on our Calleya Estate, Treeby community group or on our  TCA Facebook page highlighting the grievances of having low to no phone signals in this estate.

This issue existed since the first development of Calleya; and as population density increases the signals deteriorate drastically. 😟 We, the TCA, had been raising this issue with the Cockburn council and the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman (TIO) yearly in hope that a solution can be implemented.

In the last Wednesday general meeting, on 12th August 2020 at Mooba Cafe, we had the pleasure of having Mr. Yaz Mubarakai joining us and sharing some key developments and community pain-points he is addressing in 2020. One specific highlight is that he proactively is taking action to get this Mobile Coverage issue resolved. He acknowledged that Treeby and our surrounding community are growing at a record pace and a good telecommunication infrastructure needs to be in place for all the residents.

In order to do that, he is collecting feedbacks and experiences from the residents in these communities. The more he can collect, the strong the case he can build to get a tower erected or a small-cell placed in our surrounding area.

So please, let's help to make Calleya mobile coverage possible by putting your feedback in the survey link below:

https://jandakot.walabor.org.au/community/mobile-coverage-issues-in-jandakot/

This is a quick update to inform the resident that part of Solomon Road parallel to Calleya Estate had been opened which allowed residents to come into the estate via Greensand Promanade (new entry) and Dollier Street (existing entry). See map above for the green coloured line.

However, it also appears that they had temporarily closed the minor stretch of Solomon Road between Dollier Street and Cutler Road ⚠️. See map above for the red coloured line. Making it into a 1-lane street, causing unnecessary jams during normal hours.

TCA has not received any information regarding this closure and still waiting to hear back from the council. We do wish that this closure is only temporary and fast. Will post another update as we know more!

So please plan your routes carefully.

If you wish to go Kwinana Freeway or Northbound, please detour using Jandakot Road and Berrigan Drive. If you are heading Southbound, going via Clementine Boulevard is the less jam option at the moment.

Take care and drive safe πŸš—!

It is that time of the year again where we would like to say thank you for your continuous support for Treeby Community Association. We, at TCA, has worked hard over the past 12 months to help our community to fight for what we want and unite the residents. Together we represent a significant voice and as a group, we make a positive difference. 🀝

Some members had reached out requesting guidance on their membership renewal. I do apologise if you are finding the joining or renewal process complicated. Please reach out and we would love to help! πŸ˜„

There are 3 ways to join or renew your TCA membership for 2020-2021 and they are:

  1. Via Membership Account page. This is our recommended method, as it connects you to us in the most efficient way. (I will guide you the process if you need a hand below)
  2. Pass the joining or renewal fee to Lani (TCA President) or Helen (TCA Secretary/Treasurer) face-to-face. Message them on Facebook or through TCA email.
  3. Direct Paypal payment through PayPal.Me/Treebyca. (Please remember to add your name, contact details, street address in the "message" section so we know who you are)

This year we had included, due to popular request, a Family Membership level πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦ that is good up to 5 family members. Or if you are happy with just a single membership, you can pick the Annual Membership too! Any contribution will greatly assist the TCA's growth. πŸ“ˆ

Once again TCA thank you for your support ❀️ and would love to welcome you to join our bi-monthly meeting! See you there. πŸ‘‹

HELP ME... I AM STUCK!

Please allow me to apologise first if the registration is not as straight forward. We will continue to find ways to improve your experience, please bear with us. πŸ˜”

To join/renewal you will need to have a WordPress account when you visit the Membership Account page. There you can create or log-in your credentials to access the membership page.

Next step is to choose your Membership Level; either $20 for family membership or $10 for individual membership.

NOTE: The membership is for the current financial year 01/07/20-30/06/21 with no pro-rata discounts.

Also, during the joining/renewal, we want to see if you may be interested in any of our events. Please tick ones that interest you.

We also have our TCA By-Laws and Social Media Communication Policy for your perusal. πŸ˜„

Next step, agree to the documents and click on the PayPal checkout button.

Agree to the document and check out via PayPal

You are almost there!! πŸ™Œ

Follow through with the PayPal Check Out page should land you to our final thank you page to indicate that your renewal was a success!

⚠️ If you are renewing your membership, after the PayPal screen, please scroll down to the bottom of our page to confirm the renewal! ⚠️

This is the extra step that many of the existing TCA members missed out which leads to unsuccessful renewal.

In both cases, you should see your final thank you screen confirming your new 2020-2021 membership (see below). πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰
